The history of pizza began long ago, when various ancient cultures produced flatbreads with toppings. The word pizza was first documented in AD 997 in Gaeta and in different parts of Central and Southern Italy. The precursor of pizza was probably the focaccia, a flatbread known to the Romans as panis focacius. Modern pizza developed in Naples, when tomato was added to the focaccia.

Mother’s Day began in the 1900s as a result of the efforts of Anna Jarvis, daughter of Ann Reeves Jarvis. After her mother’s death Anna imagined Mother’s Day as a way of honoring the sacrifices mothers made for their children.
Ways to celebrate:
Take her to dinner- A wonderful way to spoil the mother in your life is by taking her to diner. She will enjoy a meal she doesn’t have to cook.
Take her to the movies- It’s always fun for mom to go see the movie of her choice.
Pamper her- Schedule mom for a relaxing day at the spa. Who doesn’t love getting pampered?
Give her presents- Everyone loves presents. Flowers and a card make the perfect go to gift. If you have little children, have them create something special for her. A treasured memento will touch her heart.
Give her the day off- Treat her like the queen she is. Let the family pitch in so mom can relax. It may just be the best gift of all.
How do you plan to celebrate Mother’s Day?
